Description: Vonage customer for 22 months. I wanted to keep my old phone number.transfer wasn't completed till the last day of deadline giving me very little time to evaluate service.lots of echos and calls to me that went straight to mail instead of my phone ringing when I was on the computer. My 19.99 charge has slowly crept up to 34 dollars.disconnect fee info is'nt under length of service in TOS. I called today to cancell.30 minutes spent trying to clarify my options.Customer rep told me they would prorate if I changed my plan to cheapest one to avoid disconnect fee for last 2 months.after I agreed, suddenly that was no longer a option.I got mad, told them I wanted to cancel everything and hung up and just received a email telling me I had agreed to continue my more expensive plan.clearly the last desperate acts of a company going under.avoid at all costs.same as sirius/xm.

Description:I thought I would pass this along. I was finally able to resolve my problems with Vonage by sending daily Faxes to Marc Lefar, the CEO. A rep. called me yesterday and referred to my fax. At first, they tried to get me to relent, but I refused to bend, and kept insisting I would NOT pay anymore fees or charges. In the end, I got and email from them indicating that I would not be charged further. My Vonage phone line was disconnected immediately. The corporate Fax # is 732-834-0189.

Description:I have been with Vonage for over 4 years. Service was okay until I wanted to cancel as I recieved a better deal with my local cable/internet/phone company if I package my plan. I called to cancel and I was on hold for close to 30 mins before I go anyone, then they tell me it will be $90.38 to cancel!!! I had a replacement box sent to me last year because my older box was acting up, since its been within a year of receiving the other box they want to charge for it! They say I agreed to there Terms of Service, which I did not and they will not mail or even email the agreement I supposedly agreed too. I will be disputing these charges with my credit card company. Before today I would have recommended Vonage but now that they are doing this??? How to they even stay in business.

Description:I have had my Vonage "PHONE SYSTEM" for almost a year. I got it on August 25th of last year. Today is August 1st. I paid for my final month of my Vonage contract today. I asked them if I could cancel my contract today, since I had already paid for my last Month. My Vonage representative told me if I cancel today I had to pay a $39.99 disconnection fee. I was also told I would have to pay $79.99 for my phones because i did not complete my contract. I confirmed with my Vonage rep I had paid through the end of August, she said "yes". I confirmed again that my contract was only through the month of August and I got the answer "yes". I asked how they could charge me for my equipment today and not in 24 days if I have no payments left. She could not give me an answer. I asked how they could charge me a termination fee today if I paid the remainder of my contract and she could not give me an answer. Her solution is that I would not have to pay for the month of September. My request was that I wanted to cancel not that my service was poor. My contract ended this month. I do not want my contract to continue after this month. They will not terminate my contract today. They will not mark it to terminate at its conclusion. I have to call Vonage Support between the hours of 8 and 6 to cancel my phone after August 25th. Keep in mind I have paid the remainder of my contract. I only have 24 days left on my contract. Do not by Vonage they are very shady. They literally will not let you leave there service. I completed my obligation with them. I held up my end of the bargain. I asked them to hold up theirs and they will not. DO NOT BUY VONAGE. DISCOURAGE YOUR FRIENDS IF THEY ARE THINKING ABOUT IT.

Description:I've had vonage on and off for years as a matter of fact I started with them when they started. Now foolish me I went with them again in January and now I have constant comm problems with my broadband service where the phone is offline too much. I wanted to cancel today and was told I was under some sort of contract. I don't remember that! I asked the agent where they burried that tid bit of info. Now if I want to cancel I have to pay $125 recovery fee. In essence they are collecting back money for the adapter and free 30 day money back period and a $39 cancellation fee. Wow! what a sucky company this has become. I will make it my life's work to make sure no people I come in contact with ever use this firm.

Description:I lost my job a couple of years ago and needed to cut down on my bills. Vonage refused to let me out of my contract for under some huge fee. I had to keep the service even though I had replaced it with something cheaper, even though it wasn't hooked up, for months, and then was STILL charged 99 dollars just to get out of the contract. I got another job but I'll never, ever get vonage back or recommend it to anyone in their right mind.

Description:I am dealing with the same issue of trying to cancel Vonage as everyone else. So, I want to pass the following information along in case it is useful. According to Hoover's, the Chairman of Vonage is Jeff Citron and the CEO is Marc Lefar. The telephone # at Vonage is 732-528-2600 and the fax is 732-231-6783. So far, I haven't reached them, but by entering the first three letters of the last name, you get the names of other Vonage employees that you can try to connect with and request to be transferred to these two gentlemen. Citron's # rings than hangs up, but Lefar's # takes a message and promises to return your call. Haven't heard from him yet. Also, the fax seems to work. Customer service at Vonage refused to give me this information so I could complain personally. If I am able to resolve my issue directly with Corporate, I will let you know.
